"Difficult Conversations"


As Officers and Chiefs, we are responsible to all of our members, this sometimes leads to having to have difficult conversations with our members. Stress, substance abuse, job performance, outside factors affecting job performance, and bullying & harassment are some of the common issues officers are tasked to deal with. Learn how to start the conversations that can have significant impacts on members and the department as a whole. 

Bio

Bo Moore is finishing his 20th year in the Fire Service. He is the Deputy Chief of Operations/Training/Firefighter Safety for the City of Leduc. Bo holds a Fire & Safety Diploma and a Fire Officer IV Certificate from JIBC, and a Fire Instructor III certificate from the Colorado State Fire Marshall. He currently sits on three Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs: Committees and Working Groups, including Diversity & Inclusion, Redefining the Role of the Fire Department and Best Practices.
