Synopsis

"Blaming Culture is the Problem"

Assembling the ideal team is difficult in the best of times. This presentation will explore the dynamics of developing a culture of success in your firehouse, company, or division. A culture of success is one that is resilient, dynamic, and open to change. Often we are required to work with individuals and teams from other agencies, what impact does your team’s culture have on this interaction? Can we get more out of these teams? My career has brought me to many new teams, and the lessons I have learned about culture have changed the way I do everything. I would like to share some insight and inspire you to pay attention to your culture.

Bio

Denis Roberge is a training officer with the Dieppe Fire Department in Dieppe New Brunswick. He came to the training division from the operations floor at the Dieppe fire department, where he became a certified fire service instructor and Blue Card Command instructor. Prior to entering the fire service Denis worked as a Paramedic throughout New Brunswick and is an instructor at Medavie Health Ed in all programs.
